The Ministry of Education has been promoting aesthetic education for a long time, and many schools have begun to incorporate aesthetic education into their curricula. For example, Huang Ruban, an art teacher at Xingang Elementary and Secondary School in Miaoli County, asked students to set up slingshots on the playground in physics class. Many students exclaimed: It turns out that physics can really be applied in life.

The second phase of the five-year aesthetic education project ended this year. 177 elementary schools, junior high schools and high schools across Taiwan have invested in the "Cross-disciplinary aesthetic education experimental curriculum development project", using art as a bridge to carry out diversified learning, development and Aesthetic experience. The exhibition will be held at National Taiwan Normal University starting today.

Huang Ruban said that she had participated in the first phase of the course, which combined aesthetic education with other fields, "students performed very well"; in the second phase, physics classes that students thought were boring were once again combined with aesthetic education, " The theme of "Kinetic Energy Conversion", combined with ANGRY BIRDS (video game Angry Birds), explores the relationship between potential energy conversion, kinetic energy, torque, friction and structural beauty.

Students use cardboard boxes to set up targets, and then use bamboo, springs, slingshots and other items to set up launch pads. Students build various structures and launch pads by calculating launches.

Zhao Huiling, the host of the project and dean of the School of Arts of National Taiwan Normal University, said that the second phase will focus on integrating the results of the first phase and further promote the core literacy and aesthetic education in the 12-year national education curriculum that will be launched. She also said that the National Normal University will also cultivate teachers with aesthetic awareness through "cross-field aesthetic education".

The results exhibition of the "Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Education Experimental Curriculum Development Project for Secondary Schools and Elementary Schools" will be on display at the Continuing Education and Promotion Department of National Taiwan Normal University from now until October 9.
