This program centers on the theme of "water," starting with social texts and integrating interdisciplinary design with fields such as nature, information, and art. The curriculum design draws inspiration from the local context of Dazhong Elementary School, surrounded by numerous ponds and canals, and incorporates the unique characteristics of Taoyuan, known as the "Land of a Thousand Ponds." It aims to help students understand extreme weather and pollution issues through cognitive, skills-based, and hands-on learning experiences, and to achieve contextualized learning through outdoor field trips (such as to the Longshan Retention Basin and the Daxi Water Recycling Center). The ultimate goal is for students to put what they have learned into practice, achieving environmental sustainability and a better future. The team emphasizes that through a lengthy and thorough presentation, students will realize that climate change and environmental pollution are real, ongoing issues that are impacting their lives.
