Chiayi City Yushan Junior High School—Literary Comprehension. Aesthetic Translation

Starting with each class's performance of "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio," we consider the supporting role each field and subject plays in this thematic curriculum, then explore the essence of each subject within this supportive role. First, within the flexible Chinese language curriculum, students will engage with classical Chinese texts in reading lessons to foster literary comprehension and aesthetic appreciation. Then, prior to the performance of the play, other subjects will be integrated into the curriculum, engaging in multi-axis script rewriting that connects to the Chinese language, each independently completing curriculum-based instruction. Finally, through multi-axis integration, collaborative teaching will be conducted to support the performance. Students will leverage textual and visual experiences to expand, develop, and emulate the complex skills required for the thematic performance.
