Taoyuan City Taoyuan High School—Dialogue between Art and Life-Zhang Yuwen’s Press Conference on Migrant Life Site Curation

The cross-domain aesthetics course of Taoyuan High School starts with the "Art Life-Performing Arts Course: Approaching Benevolence through Art", and gradually crosses domains and joins forces with partners across disciplines, schools and stages every year. This semester, the core is "Dialogue between Art and Life". Through the curation of exhibitions by graduating alumni, this process is structured into a cross-domain practice of teaching activities and performing arts, guiding students to explore the connection between personal life experience and social phenomena. We regard the exhibition as a narrative field, allowing students to be not only viewers but also participants and curators. The nutrients they gain from the exhibition can be transferred to their lives, allowing them to face real life gracefully, calmly and with peace of mind.
During the learning process, students will develop field creation capabilities and curatorial thinking through courses, exhibition planning, and interaction with images and spaces, and further understand how art can become a medium for expressing social issues. In addition, through teamwork and critical thinking, they will learn how to use body awareness to respond to exhibition content and deepen their understanding of individuals and society. This course encourages students to actively participate, perceive and interpret, and stimulates their own in-depth dialogue with life and art through the learning process of exhibitions.
