The "2023 Academic Year Teacher Training and Collaborative University Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Education Achievement Presentation" was held today at the Guling Street Small Theater in Taipei, bringing together 18 teacher training partner universities from across Taiwan to showcase their fruitful results in promoting interdisciplinary aesthetic education. The presentation combined course sharing, achievement exhibitions, roundtable forums, and neighborhood literature walks, presenting a deep integration of classroom teaching and artistic practice.

In her address, Wu Xiaoxia, Director of the Department of Teacher Training and Arts Education of the Ministry of Education, pointed out that the spread of aesthetic education, from its inception to its current state, relies on the hard work and dedication of every teacher. She expressed hope that through this project exchange, "aesthetic sense" would become a vital force supporting both teachers and students. Professor Zhao Huiling, the project's principal investigator, also shared that June is a time when aesthetic education flourishes across Taiwan, with teachers participating in the project successively presenting their course results, demonstrating the innovative power of integrating art and education. Dean Zhuang Liandong further expressed his gratitude, drawing on his own teaching experience, for the interdisciplinary aesthetic education project, which brought forward-thinking concepts and practical examples to teachers in the classroom.

This presentation featured keynote speeches by Professor Hsu Hsiu-Chu from National Dong Hwa University, Associate Professor Tseng Yi-Jen from National Quemoy University, and Assistant Professor Wu Chia-Chieh from National Taichung University of Education. The presentations covered innovative achievements and practical collaboration experiences in aesthetic education for teacher training. The subsequent roundtable forum, where teacher training committee members and project leaders discussed "How to discover, feel, and express emotions through artistic creation?" and "How can art support socio-emotional learning in the school setting?" sparked a wealth of interdisciplinary perspectives and experiences.

In the afternoon, renowned writers Hong Hong and Xia Xia led a literary walk through the Wenluoting neighborhood, allowing participants to experience the multifaceted dialogue between literature and urban space, and to feel the natural flow of aesthetic education in daily life.

This presentation not only showcased the rich achievements of interdisciplinary aesthetic education but also once again united the creativity and enthusiasm of the entire education sector across Taiwan. Moving forward, the project team will continue to collaborate with teacher training universities to deepen the aesthetic practice in the classroom, jointly building an aesthetic education system for Taiwan.
