Shenmei Elementary School, Keelung City—Shenmei Small Theater Children's Stage

The course, themed around the third-grade school curriculum "Drama," connects four areas: Mandarin, visual arts, self-directed learning, and performing arts. Through a complete process from story adaptation and character creation to collaborative rehearsal and final performance, students integrate knowledge and skills from various disciplines in a contextualized setting, practicing competency-based learning. The course emphasizes "learning by doing," allowing students to develop core competencies such as language expression, aesthetic creation, teamwork, problem-solving, and self-management through real-world creative and performance experiences.

Drama itself is an activity of "expressing inner feelings" and "experiencing the emotions of characters," making it very suitable as a vehicle for emotional awareness and emotional education. In the story selection stage, we guide students to choose or adapt stories that align with the SDGs goals as much as possible, allowing children to learn to pay attention to global social and environmental issues. It also enables them to reflect on how to practice empathy and seek solutions when facing real-world challenges such as inequality, climate change, and educational inequality through emotional experiences.

Furthermore, the next semester's curriculum also emphasizes group collaboration and discussions on SDGs. Students will work together to address social responsibility issues and discuss how to implement the Sustainable Development Goals through cooperation. In this process, emotional awareness and regulation become crucial for successful collaboration. During the performance phase, students will act out emotional stories related to the SDGs, transforming their understanding into action and promoting social and environmental awareness through their presentations.

Therefore, this curriculum is not only a learning process of emotional education, but also a creative platform that deeply integrates sustainable development goals with emotional expression, enabling students to understand and shoulder their responsibilities to the world, society, and the future through emotional awareness and emotional education.
