Jianguo Elementary School, Pingtung City, Pingtung County—Agronomy & Food Time—An Aesthetic Journey from Land to Table

This course, themed "Agronomy & Food Time: Aesthetic Action from Land to Table," integrates natural sciences, visual arts, social studies, and integrated activities. Through real-world scenarios such as campus farm management, agricultural technology research, farmer interviews, culinary practice, aesthetic design, and presentations, it guides students to gradually understand the connection between food, ecology, and life, starting from the land. Students not only participate in the processes of planting, caring for, harvesting, and cooking, but also transform their learning outcomes into aesthetically pleasing and communicative creations using visual design works such as posters, invitations, and meal tickets, cultivating design thinking and aesthetic expression abilities. The course emphasizes "learning by doing, learning about beauty, and practicing in life," using real-world tasks to drive learning and encouraging students to cultivate respect for the land, cherish food, and care for the environment through observation, inquiry, collaboration, and creation. Simultaneously, through interdisciplinary integration, it guides students to connect natural knowledge, aesthetic literacy, and life experiences, developing core competencies such as problem-solving, creative thinking, communication and collaboration, and self-directed learning. This embodies the interdisciplinary aesthetic education philosophy of "starting from life and returning to life practice," and deepens the value of sustainable environmental and food and agriculture education.
