New Taipei City Fuhe Junior High School – Deserves its reputation for delicious food in Yonghe.

This is a one-year course, titled "Eating in Yonghe, It Lives Up to Its Name!", which includes...
With Yonghe's local cuisine, mascot, and SDGs as its core themes, the program guides students to deeply experience and understand the local cultural connotations and aesthetic values through field visits, observation sketching, and creative practice, using their five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.
The curriculum integrates visual arts, social studies, and SDGs 11 and 12 on sustainable development education, starting from students' familiarity with...
Starting from familiar life experiences, students are encouraged to step out of the classroom and engage in multi-sensory exploration activities. They will use their eyes to observe the colors and plating of food, their ears to listen to the stories and cultural memories shared by the vendors, their noses to smell the aromas, their taste buds to savor traditional and innovative flavors, and their hands to touch the utensils and packaging used by the vendors. This in-depth exploration and recording of all five senses will allow them to investigate whether these utensils and packaging conform to the spirit of SDGs 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production," such as whether reusable tableware, environmentally friendly packaging materials are used, single-use waste is reduced, or bringing one's own containers is encouraged. This fosters students' reflection on environmental responsibility through design and consumption.
Students will create a bilingual (Chinese and English) guide map of Yonghe's food scene and design representative dishes in a creative way.
The Yonghe mascot and the Yonghe Food Time Show – a miniature food research house – showcase the local cultural charm and enhance the city's marketing. Through artistic aesthetics and interdisciplinary integration, the program strengthens students' cultural literacy and sustainable thinking, ultimately promoting local tourism, boosting Yonghe District's prosperity and international integration, and practicing the educational value of connecting society through aesthetics and the five senses.
PS: Next semester, a "Food Research Miniature Room" design has been added, and its contents are listed in the learning activities and procedures.
