Bihu Elementary School, Taipei City – Nature Puzzle: Exploring the Infinite Possibilities of the Environment

This course guides students to walk around the campus, observe and photograph the plants, animals and insects on campus.

Through this observation process, students learn to extract materials from the real natural environment as sources of visual inspiration, make preliminary scientific drawings and records, and then carry out subsequent printmaking creations.

Let children experience the texture and layering of printmaking firsthand and enjoy the endless fun of creating with their hands.

During the creative process, students used recycled milk cartons as printmaking materials, combining them with common household items such as washi tape, packing tape, and white glue to add texture. They used ballpoint pens to carve out the patterns, putting into practice the environmentally friendly concept of resource reuse. In the printing stage, they used discarded toothbrushes dipped in water-based printmaking ink and applied the ink by hand.

This course aims to cultivate students' observation, creativity, and hands-on skills, while guiding them to pay attention to daily life and the surrounding environment, and to practice the concepts of sustainable living and waste reduction.

The aim is to enable students to discover beauty and value in their daily lives through practical art activities and their connection with the environment, and to further develop their ability to integrate environment, ecology and self-expression, thus becoming well-rounded future citizens.
