Xinyi Elementary School, Tainan City – 2025 Time Hopping – Taijiang 3D Story Theater

(a) Aesthetic learning from "doing it" to "getting moving"

This course focuses on puppetry creation, combining material manipulation, physical expression, and character understanding to guide students from static model making to experiencing "how movement shapes a character." Through the process of puppetry and performance, students learn that beauty exists not only in appearance but also in movement, rhythm, and emotional expression.

(ii) Emphasize the experience of the process and establish the ability to perceive beauty.

The curriculum design emphasizes the process of exploration and experimentation, rather than the completion of a single outcome. Through repeated operation, revision, and discussion, students gradually become aware of the characteristics of materials, structural relationships, and expressive effects, cultivating aesthetic critical thinking and reflection abilities, and establishing a basic understanding of performing arts.

(III) Integrating Collaborative Learning with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)

Puppet shows require a high degree of teamwork and focus. This course is deliberately designed with group puppetry and audience feedback activities, allowing students to learn self-management, empathy, and interpersonal communication while completing tasks together, thus promoting positive interaction and the development of a sense of responsibility.

(iv) Responding to the school-centered approach and the spirit of interdisciplinary aesthetics

This course combines arts education with life experience, using puppetry as a medium to connect physical, linguistic, and emotional expression, implementing the spirit of interdisciplinary aesthetic education, and developing learning content that aligns with students' characteristics and school culture.
