Yuejin Elementary School, Yanshui District, Tainan City—Gender Differences

This course builds on the school-based "Puppetry" unit. Starting with a gender report from Anne's News, and drawing on real-life news events, it guides students to explore gender stereotypes in real life. We skillfully blend the performing arts of traditional puppetry (glove puppetry and rod puppetry) with the creative tools of modern digital tools (GarageBand and Scratch) to create a series of cross-disciplinary learning activities. The ultimate goal is for students to integrate their learning and, through hand-crafted puppetry or animations, tangibly demonstrate their understanding of gender issues and confidently express their personal perspectives.
