Dawu Elementary School, Dawu Township, Taitung County—Love Meets the Mountains and Sea

This course takes "originating from mountains and seas, rooted in the local area, and blossoming with beauty" as its core concept. It combines Taitung's unique mountain and marine ecology with the rich Paiwan and Austronesian cultural heritage, breaking the framework of traditional single art teaching and creating a diverse art stage for children to explore.
• Learning from the land, deeply instilling environmental awareness and inheriting the spirit of reverence for nature of the Paiwan and Austronesian peoples, we integrate "mountain and ocean education" and "environmental sustainability" into our creations. Through the creation of wooden board clocks, we convey the imagery of "coming home" and express a sense of belonging to the land and culture; and through the making of nail art, embroidery, and aesthetically pleasing household items (vases, coasters, pot holders), we teach children to care for the environment and transform their love for the environment and culture into practical artistic actions.
• Embarking on a diverse aesthetic journey through handcrafted art, this program combines woodworking, ceramics, and fiber art (such as nail art and perforated embroidery) with a variety of media to guide students from exploring materials and drawing shapes to cutting and assembling, cultivating their three-dimensional modeling abilities and the spirit of craftsmanship. It aims to make art more than just something to be admired; it allows art to enter daily life, achieving the aesthetic education goal of "life is art, and art is life."
• Embodying multiculturalism, this program showcases the vitality of cross-disciplinary collaboration, integrating traditional Paiwan folk songs and Southeast Asian language songs. Through the interdisciplinary combination of "singing" and "visual arts," it broadens children's cultural horizons and aesthetic perception. Utilizing diverse teaching resources and a vibrant learning model, it respects and inspires each child's unique potential, creating an artistic stage just for them.
