Liulin Elementary School, Chiayi County — Chiayi+1: Picking Colors on the Water, Imprinting the Hometown

This course, centered on "Chiayi+1," guides students to rediscover color in their familiar daily lives. Through exploring five major cultural sites, including Kuzhu Temple and the Nanjing Sugar Factory, the course utilizes digital tools to build a database of local colors. Students then apply principles of form to transform these colors into print designs, canvas bags, and creative paper cutouts. Finally, the course culminates in a "color-covering" activity in conjunction with the school anniversary performance. We hope that this three-part process of "awareness, transformation, and practice" will resonate with the SDG11 spirit of sustainable urban and rural development, enabling students to become the best ambassadors of their hometown culture through aesthetic exploration.
