Keelung is a historic city that was developed very early in Taiwan. It is a port city with mountains, rivers, and sea. Therefore, we hope that students can explore the local aesthetics through interdisciplinary aesthetic courses. Thus, in the 2024 academic year, we planned a local interdisciplinary aesthetic course in three stages: (mountains), (rivers), and (sea). Through the "natural" and "humanistic" routes of the mountain, river, and sea sections, we explored and discovered the local beauty.
Following the "Mountain Chapter" course in the first semester of 113-1 and the "River Chapter" course in the second semester of 113-2, the 2015 academic year will focus on the "Sea Chapter" in Keelung as the aesthetic theme. However, due to the fact that the field research areas are local coastal sites, and considering the sea conditions (the first semester of 114-1 was conducted in winter), the curriculum has been adjusted as follows: 114-1 will implement the "Sea Chapter" with a cultural route (around Zhengbin Fishing Port and surrounding communities); 114-2 will implement the "Sea Chapter" with a natural route (Chaojing Park + intertidal zone). Through field research, students will explore the beauty of the local area. The first semester will present the learning outcomes through a cross-disciplinary collaborative "Local Ocean Walking Pop-up Book," and the second semester will present the learning outcomes through a "Creative Market." The research attitude will be based on "collection," with "street vending" as the core.
