This semester's "SDGs × TechArt English: Cross-disciplinary In-Depth Learning and Local Practice" initiative aims to deepen the cross-disciplinary integration of technology, art, and English, fostering a more comprehensive core literacy in students for the digital age. Building on the foundation laid in the first semester's "TechArt English: Creating the Future," this course further explores how to integrate immersive technology and artistic creation into local issues and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative approaches.
With the rapid development of digital technology, particularly AI and VR, technological literacy has become an essential skill for modern students. Interdisciplinary learning models can help students improve their learning outcomes and problem-solving skills through hands-on practice and exploration. This course places a particular emphasis on design thinking, using AI classrooms, VR headsets, and other equipment to cultivate students' independent learning habits and digital literacy.
By integrating English picture book reading with topical discussions, the curriculum encourages students to not only enhance their language skills but also cultivate a curiosity about the world, a global perspective, and an understanding of local culture. Incorporating core themes such as the SDGs (quality education, gender equality, and reduced inequality) and social-emotional learning (SEL), the curriculum aims to foster students' awareness of sustainability, responsible decision-making, and the qualities of global citizenship. Learning extends beyond the classroom to everyday life, encouraging students to embrace the possibilities of the future and fulfilling the educational vision of "local roots, global perspectives."
