Yu-Ren Elementary School, Yunlin County—Playing Your Own Piano in Remembrance

The Gancuo course has two levels. One is to re-examine the history, culture, industry, architecture, etc. of the local area (the school district is called Gancuo). The other level is to review and refine the cross-disciplinary aesthetic courses that have been implemented.

Making your own musical instruments is a very interesting course. In 2020, Yu-Jen Elementary School designed a string instrument course called "Dialogue Between Qin and Erhu" as part of its interdisciplinary aesthetics curriculum, where students made their own hair clip kalimba and eco-friendly erhu. In 2025, we revisited this course, making the content more in-depth. In addition to visiting a musical instrument factory, we also added a part where students experienced creating their own scores, making the course more fulfilling and integrating the beauty of music into daily life.
