Kaohsiung City Fushan Elementary School—A Cross-Domain Aesthetic Practice of the Train Conductor of Happiness and the Station Arrival Music

Sixth-grade students have already learned about the development of Taiwan's railways in the "Social Studies" subject in the first semester of sixth grade. In the school-run curriculum, our school has created a special "Happy Train Conductor" unit, which introduces the development of Taiwan's railways, MRT, and High Speed Rail. Through this introduction, students are further guided to broaden their horizons and, by using online and library resources, create their own research topics to understand the railway development and characteristics of other countries.
This unit incorporates the school's signature tri-railway course, "Happy Train Conductor." Students will create and arrange "Station Arrival Music" for a railway theme chosen by their group. Utilizing mobile devices and the "Garageband" app, students will be guided to complete their station arrival music arrangement through the interactive relationship between technology and music, experiencing a musical feast where technology and art combine to bring beauty to everyday life.
