Fenggui Elementary School, Penghu County—From Fragments to Islands: An Environmental Creation Course Reconstructing Penghu with Marine Debris

Penghu is surrounded by the sea, which is not only an important part of the daily lives of its residents, but also bears the environmental pressure from a large amount of marine debris. This course uses marine debris that students can actually touch as creative material, guiding them through the process of "collecting, sorting, recombining and creating" to rediscover the relationship between their hometown island and the surrounding sea.

The course goes beyond simply imparting environmental knowledge. Instead, it allows students to piece together fragmented marine debris to create the shape of Penghu Island. Using sand from their hometown coastline mixed with paint and white glue, they simulate the sea and waves surrounding the island, transforming abstract environmental issues into a tangible and understandable creative experience. This fosters students' environmental awareness and sense of place.
