The second session of the 2023 Academic Year Teacher Training and Collaborative University Interdisciplinary Aesthetics Achievement Sharing Conference was held in Taichung on May 25. The session was hosted by Chuang Min-jen, the co-host of the project, and featured presentations from nine teacher training committee members from northern, central, southern and eastern Taiwan.

Regarding the guidance of partner schools, Professor Guo Meinu shared the interdisciplinary food and agriculture course at Taitung Dawang Elementary School. This course collaborates with local farmers, fishermen, and schools in other parts of Kaohsiung to learn about the beauty of local nature and environmental protection issues.


In terms of interdisciplinary courses, Professor Zhang Lianqiang collaborated with the Hanyang Beiguan Opera Troupe, enabling students to express emotions through music and physical performance, and also to perform in venues such as nursing homes, interacting with audiences from different ethnic groups; Professor Deng Zongsheng, through SEL-related courses, led students to learn about emotion identification and the definition of disorders, and guided students in music and video creation; Assistant Professor Liu Yujun, through the experience of strength and beauty in archery, connected students with visual design experience, trained their concentration and observation skills, and enhanced their interdisciplinary thinking and creative abilities; Associate Professor Xie Ruilong promoted interdisciplinary aesthetic education in folk culture and everyday life, and through the promotion of temple cultural heritage preservation, brought... Students are guided to appreciate the traditional aesthetics of folk art and to learn in a linked way with local history and cultural heritage preservation. Assistant Professor Kao Chia-Hung arranges for students to learn to become artists, with artists sharing their experiences of self-awareness and giving advice to students in their creative process. He also uses strategies and methods such as board game design and VR platform application to enable students to learn across disciplines in the process of designing courses and game activities. Associate Professor Tsai Pei-Kuei's "Unfinished Voices" performance project leads students from Kaohsiung Normal University and Hsiung Feng High School to connect the history of the Pacific War through soundscape creation and physical performance, inspired by the former residence of Ke Qihua. He guides students to collaborate with professional performers to co-create and perform, and to empathize with the present through the interpretation of history.


In cultivating future talents with interdisciplinary aesthetic sensibilities, Associate Professor Chang Szu-ching guided students to combine performing arts with visual and spatial elements to conduct "dance curation." She also led teacher trainees to integrate dance creation with the art and culture centipede formation, transforming and presenting dance aesthetics. Under the guidance of teacher trainees, students from Taichung Daming High School experienced the aesthetic forms of rhythm and gradation. Assistant Professors Lin Chia-hui and Wu Chia-chieh, who also served as adjunct assistant professors, guided students to combine career exploration and music creation with SEL (Student Educational Experience) to implement the "Singing the Future into a Song" course. This course taught them to communicate with others and make responsible decisions. They also led teacher trainees to visit Taichung Datong Elementary School and Nantou Xiulin Elementary School to connect teacher training with teaching practice. Assistant Professor Kao Ching-yao combined teacher training with USR (Universal Research and Social Responsibility) to lead teacher trainees to serve in rural areas. Through interdisciplinary aesthetic workshops, they implemented language and literature courses in rural schools and guided teacher trainees to design calligraphy courses and performances, interacting with elementary school students and implementing internship experience.

This session of teacher training committee members shared their experiences, showcasing how interdisciplinary aesthetic education can be integrated into curriculum design and teaching activities. It also demonstrated their deep commitment to cultivating teacher trainees' curriculum innovation, practical skills, and socio-emotional learning. Furthermore, the teachers demonstrated a strong focus on the professional development of teacher trainees, assisting them in building interdisciplinary aesthetic education knowledge and practical abilities through guidance, hands-on learning, and classroom observation.
