The "2026 Ministry of Education Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Education Season: Kinmen County Cooperative School Achievement Sharing Meeting" was held on May 29th at Kinmen County Jinning Elementary and Junior High School. The event was hosted by Professor Li Qichang, co-host of the Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Education Excellence Leadership Program. Co-hosts Professor Chen Chundi, Teacher Training Committee members Professor Zeng Yiren and Professor Guo Meinu provided feedback on the courses. Zhou Xiangmin, Section Chief of the Social Education Section of the Kinmen County Government Education Department, Huang Wenjing, staff member, Zhang Zhimeng, Principal of Jinhu Township Elementary School in Kinmen County, Song Wenfa, Principal of Kinmen County Jinning Elementary and Junior High School, and Xu Fanying, Principal Candidate, were also present to offer their greetings.

In the morning, the aesthetics teacher team visited Chen Jinglan's Western-style building, Gaodong Tunnel, and Youth Farm. At the Youth Farm in Jinsha Township, elementary school students explained the biological characteristics of the migratory bird Chestnut-throated Bee-eater to the cross-domain teacher group and shared how to protect and coexist with it.

In the afternoon, a group of interdisciplinary aesthetics teachers gathered at Jinning Elementary and Junior High School for a sharing session on their interdisciplinary aesthetics achievements. Jinning Elementary and Junior High School, a seed school, launched the "Jinchuan Pottery - Traditional Architectural Aesthetics" course last semester. Combining home economics, visual arts, and local culture, the course guided students to observe architectural features in Kinmen's old houses, such as "swallowtails," "horsebacks," and "floral tiles," and transformed these features into ceramic creations. Through sculpting and design, students not only learned ceramic techniques but also deepened their understanding and emotional connection to their hometown culture through the re-creation of cultural symbols. Next semester, the theme will be "Mandala Art - Exploring the Center of the Inner Universe," integrating mathematics, visual arts, and socio-emotional learning. Through circular and geometrically symmetrical images, students will be guided to understand mathematical aesthetics and engage in self-exploration and emotional expression through creation.

For many years, the benchmark school has been promoting the "Women's Power, Beauty - Colors in Island Memories" curriculum in elementary schools during the 2025-2026 academic year. Centering on the history of the Kinmen Women's Self-Defense Force, the curriculum integrates social studies, art, and reading to guide students in reflecting on courage, responsibility, and gender equality. Through historical exploration, field trips, and artistic creation, students cultivate empathy and a sense of civic responsibility for cherishing peace. Fifth-grade students will present their "Protecting Every Family Member on the Island" curriculum for the following semester. This curriculum combines life education, environmental education, art, filmmaking, stop-motion animation, and media outreach. Through field visits, interviews, and animation creation, students will focus on stray animals and wildlife issues, recognizing the importance of animal conservation and learning communication and problem-solving skills through collaborative processes.

Kinmen County, through its deep cultivation of interdisciplinary aesthetic education, has expanded learning beyond classroom knowledge to a genuine connection with the land, history, and life itself. Section Chief Chou Hsiang-min shared that the results of the interdisciplinary aesthetic education program are evident: students not only internalize their hometown culture as part of themselves but also inspire their families to learn together—a group learning together! Professor Li Chi-chang also responded that, with the support of local teachers, teacher training committee members, and the county government, interdisciplinary aesthetic education has blossomed locally in Kinmen.
