During the winter break (February 3-6), Tianmu Junior High School in Taipei City held a unique creative course, culminating in a performance entitled "Peace and War / Zhishan Prayer for Peace and Joy" at the Huiji Temple in Zhishan Rock! Led by teachers Duan Shizhen, Liao Yu-ning, Li Fengzhu, Jiang Peishan, and Chen Yunfang, students explored the cultural context of Zhishan Rock through the combination of art and history.

This course utilized the 5E learning cycle teaching model and PBL (Project-Based Learning) thematic learning. Students not only conducted on-site research into the historical environment of Zhishan Rock, but also transformed their learning into creative works, combining Nanguan opera and physical performance to bring history to life on stage!

On the ninth day of the Lunar New Year (the birthday of the Jade Emperor), students presented the story of Zhishan Rock at the Huiji Temple square, using Nanguan music and physical performance. Experts and scholars were invited, along with parents, to witness this culturally rich and creative presentation! History can be read, but it can also be experienced and interpreted. Through this course, students not only learned teamwork but also deeply felt the charm of the fusion of culture and art. We look forward to more such cross-disciplinary aesthetic learning opportunities in the future!
