On June 5th, Professor Chung Yi-hui, a member of the Teacher Training Committee of National Penghu University of Science and Technology, attended the end-of-term presentation at Magong Junior High School in Penghu County. The following is a sharing from Professor Chung:

As a close friend of Magong Junior High School and a member of the school's committee, I entered the campus presentation venue with great anticipation. Watching the eighth-grade arts and talent class students confidently stride forward in their self-designed T-shirts against an AI-animated backdrop projected on the screen and accompanied by immersive music, the emotion and awe I felt at that moment were truly indescribable! This fashion show, "My Doll Story," a fusion of virtual and real elements, perfectly showcased "interdisciplinary aesthetic literacy" to everyone.

Here, I would like to pay special tribute to the teaching team of Magong Junior High School! The team, consisting of project leader Ms. Meiyao, Mr. Haozhi, Mr. Shilin, Ms. Yuting, and Ms. Huizhen, successfully broke down disciplinary barriers, giving this course, which starts from the color psychology and IP character setting of visual arts, connects with the "introduction, development, climax and conclusion" script structure of Chinese language, and then integrates the physical development and choreography of performing arts, and finally incorporates AI video generation of information technology, has the most wonderful cross-domain aesthetic course structure.

Through close collaboration among teachers, a bridge has been built extending traditional art into digital life. This allows junior high school students, whose inner worlds are most sensitive and complex, to explore their inner selves and the world around them, expressing their unspoken emotions and self-awareness through the course, crafting their own unique puppet characters. Looking back to last semester, the children started by sculpting from a wire frame and hard American clay. When faced with challenges in achieving balance and structural equilibrium, they didn't give up. Instead, they continuously experimented and refined their color schemes and costume design aesthetics. This resilience—from hands-on practice to problem-solving—is the most beautiful aspect of education.

What touched me most was the depth of life the children displayed in their works. The students boldly used Canva and AI tools to become "animation magicians," giving the physical figurines dynamic life. Whether it was incorporating their concern for the conservation of Penghu's land and marine ecological environment or weaving in their own warm childhood memories, the students' creations not only had a sense of trendiness but also a deep reflection on society and life. Watching everyone confidently pose in their own designed clothes, their cross-disciplinary experience and their pride and confidence in their original works were truly dazzling!

As a local partner who has always walked hand in hand with us, seeing Magong Junior High School demonstrate such a powerful benchmark in aesthetic education fills us with immense pride!
