The Ministry of Education's Outstanding Leading Program for Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Education, "2025 Academic Year Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Cooperation School Achievement Exchange Meeting," was held on June 22 at the Department of Music, National University of Tainan. The meeting brought together 17 partner schools from Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan, as well as teacher training universities, to participate. Through sharing of curriculum achievements, professional exchanges, and visits to cultural venues, the meeting showcased the diverse achievements of interdisciplinary aesthetic education in the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan region.

This exchange meeting focused on "deepening the practice of interdisciplinary courses and promoting teachers' professional growth." Each school started from local culture, campus environment and students' life experience, combined art, humanities, technology, environment, gender and life issues to develop interdisciplinary courses with local characteristics, and guided students to cultivate aesthetic literacy, innovative thinking and problem-solving ability through exploration and creation.

Schools in the Tainan area showcased rich local connections and innovative practices: Jiali Junior High School combined art, biology, and SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) through the "I Am What I Am" course to help students explore themselves; Yongkang Junior High School connected with the culture of Tainan through hometown field trips and created manhole covers with local characteristics for the campus; Xinyi Elementary School integrated puppet shows, SDGs, and ecological issues to create the "Puppet Show in Taijiang" mobile theater; and Yuejin Elementary School developed a curatorial course based on the Yanshui Beehive Fireworks culture, allowing students to express their creativity from local culture.

In the Chiayi area, different learning approaches are showcased through the cross-disciplinary integration of art and life. Chiayi University Affiliated Elementary School combines park sculpture exploration with cultural field exploration to promote intergenerational exchange; Chongwen Elementary School combines language and dance to explore the rhythm of sound and body movement; and Beiyuan Elementary School accompanies students in expressing themselves and building connections with others through calligraphy creation.

Schools in the Yunlin area are developing curricula with a local spirit, starting from the land and life experiences. Yu-Ren Elementary School guides students to create their own musical works, from sound exploration and instrument making to brand design; Cheng-Hsin High School deepens environmental learning through stream ecological surveys; and Kouhu Junior High School takes local environmental issues as a starting point to guide students to pay attention to local development and land changes.

The event also included professional feedback sessions, teacher exchanges, and a visit to the Chimei Museum. Through sharing their curriculum implementation experiences, participants deepened their inter-school collaboration network and expanded the possibilities for connecting aesthetic education with local resources. This exchange of achievements not only showcased the rich tapestry of cross-disciplinary aesthetic education in the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan region but also ensured that aesthetic learning continues to occur within the context of the land, culture, and daily life, accompanying students from their local roots to the world and cultivating their creativity and initiative for the future.
