The Department of Music at our university, which is responsible for the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Leadership Program in Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Education, held the "2025 Academic Year Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Interdisciplinary Aesthetic Education Cooperation School Achievement Exchange Meeting" in Tainan on June 22, 2026. The meeting brought together 17 cooperation schools from Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan, as well as teacher training universities, to participate. Through course presentations, professional dialogues and visits to cultural sites, the meeting showcased the achievements of interdisciplinary aesthetic education in the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan region and highlighted the results of National Tainan University's long-term commitment to promoting aesthetic education, fostering teacher professional development and inter-school cooperation.

This results exchange meeting focused on deepening the practice of interdisciplinary curriculum and promoting teachers' professional growth. Each school combined art, humanities, environment, gender, and life issues, drawing on local culture, campus environment, and students' life experiences to cultivate students' aesthetic literacy, innovative thinking, and problem-solving abilities through interdisciplinary curriculum design.

Tsai Keng-ming, head of the Department of Music at National University of Tainan, stated that interdisciplinary aesthetic education not only broadens students' learning horizons but also helps enhance their humanistic literacy, interdisciplinary integration abilities, and innovative thinking. Universities training teachers also bear the important mission of connecting educational resources and supporting teachers' professional development. Professor Lin Hsiao-yu of the Department of Music at the University of Taipei, who is also a co-host of the project, affirmed the continued efforts of various schools in cultivating interdisciplinary aesthetic courses, showcasing rich and innovative teaching results.

During the results-sharing session, partner schools from Tainan, Chiayi, and Yunlin presented their curriculum implementation experiences in turn, showcasing the diverse forms of interdisciplinary aesthetic education that combine local characteristics and life issues. Tainan integrated local culture, ecological environment, historical exploration, traditional opera, and bilingual learning to develop interdisciplinary courses that incorporated Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and SDGs concepts. Chiayi deepened the connection between art education and life practice through courses such as public art exploration, dance, calligraphy, ceramics, traditional Chinese music, and curating. Yunlin, starting from local culture, ecological exploration, and community issues, guided students to understand the land and care for the environment through courses such as instrument creation, environmental exploration, and hometown investigation, demonstrating the rich achievements of interdisciplinary aesthetic education.

During the course feedback session, professors from various partner teacher training universities, including Huang Jingfang, Chen Hongling, Huang Ruisong, and Chen Qingxiu, unanimously affirmed the schools' integration of SEL (Self-Learning Experience) concepts into interdisciplinary curricula. They highlighted the schools' gradual integration of topics such as gender equality, natural sciences, mathematics, and local culture, showcasing the diverse innovations and practical achievements of their curriculum design. They also encouraged teachers to continue refining their curriculum design, making good use of local culture and life experiences as teaching materials, and to jointly improve the quality of interdisciplinary aesthetic education through inter-school exchanges and professional dialogue.

In addition to sharing course outcomes, the event also included comprehensive discussions and exchanges of ideas to deepen the inter-school cooperation network. In the afternoon, participants visited the Chimei Museum to explore its cultural sites. Through art appreciation and guided tours, teachers gained a deeper understanding of aesthetic education and the use of cultural resources, inspiring more possibilities for future curriculum design.

This results exchange meeting not only showcased the achievements of partner schools in the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan region in cultivating interdisciplinary aesthetic education, but also, by integrating regional educational resources and connecting partner schools with teacher training universities, further deepened teacher professional development and inter-school cooperation, further constructed an interdisciplinary aesthetic education exchange network in the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan region, and enhanced the sharing of regional educational resources and curriculum development capabilities.
