Lianjiang County Juguang Township Dongju Elementary School - Migration Team Travels with the Light

This program centers on the marine ecology and cultural landmarks of Dongju Island in Matsu, cleverly integrating visual arts, physical science, language expression, and social-emotional learning (SEL) to guide students to re-examine their hometown's landscape. The course begins with a "Migratory Team," depicting local fish within strict color constraints, stimulating students' dual awareness of aesthetics and ecology. Next, drawing upon the towering imagery of the Dongju Island lighthouse, students embark on a mechanical and structural challenge: an "Egg-Protecting Parachute." In terms of communication and emotional literacy, the course transforms traditional scout flag signals, elevating symbol decoding skills to non-verbal communication that transcends distance, allowing children to practice positive emotional transmission through physical movement. Finally, students will become bilingual guides and community reporters, conducting on-site investigations of the intertidal zone and interviewing local residents, internalizing their interdisciplinary learning into a deep sense of identity, empathy, and commitment to protecting their hometown.
