Changliu Elementary School, Nantou County—Environmental Digital Picture Book

This course centers on environmental education, combining picture book reading with digital technology applications to guide students to recognize real-world environmental problems in their school and community, drawing upon their own life experiences. Through story discussions, observation and recording, and digital creation, it helps students transform abstract environmental protection concepts into concrete, expressible, and actionable ideas.

During the course implementation, teachers used the environmental education picture book "Whose Key Is It—The Path and His Green Footprints" as a learning guide to initiate students' emotional connection to environmental issues. Then, combining digital tools such as Padlet, eDu AI Learning Companion, and Canva, students were encouraged to generate story ideas, revise content, and create digital picture books. Students were not only recipients of knowledge but also creators and sharers of environmental stories.

Through the completion and publication of digital picture books, students learn to convey environmental care through pictures, texts, and sounds. In peer sharing and campus exhibitions, they extend the concept of environmental protection to their daily life actions, thus realizing the learning goal of "unity of knowledge and action" in environmental education.
