Lianxing Elementary School, Changhua County—Story Impressions

This course is designed for fourth-grade students and combines Chinese language and literature with arts and humanities. It uses narrative texts from the Chinese language and literature domain as the core activity for interdisciplinary learning, guiding students from reading text to visual expression and deepening their understanding of cultural connotations and aesthetic experiences.
The course design guides students to read, discuss, and deconstruct the story structure in groups, extracting four key scenes or plots to create four-panel prints. Students work together, each responsible for one panel, and finally combine the four panels into a complete story picture, accompanied by text narration, presenting a narrative art that combines text and images. This helps students transform the textual imagery in language learning into concrete visual images, enabling learning to go beyond the textual level and to actually create, experience, and express.
Throughout the learning process, the course emphasizes hands-on practice and aesthetic development, allowing students to experience the complete creative process through printmaking steps such as composition, engraving, and printing, fostering patience, focus, and creativity. This interdisciplinary curriculum aims to cultivate students' ability to integrate language comprehension with artistic expression, build confidence through creation, and make learning a meaningful, impactful, and memorable experience.
