Taoyuan Municipal Taoyuan Senior High School—Emotions Take Turns! Opening the Pulse

In daily life, a single sentence, a message, or even a sound can produce drastically different results depending on the emotions and interpretations. This course focuses on "sound recognition" and "emotional understanding," combining vocal expression, role-playing, and scenario creation in the performing arts to guide students in exploring the changes and emotional impacts in the process of information transmission.

The course begins with sound recognition, using the direction and space of the campus to listen to the sounds emanating from the school, connecting memories of school life with the geographical environment. Through the sounds of Taoyuan High School, students awaken their memories and sense of identity with their surroundings. From hearing sounds, students practice sound expression and observe how messages are reinterpreted in transmission. Next, the course uses the emotion wheel to extract different emotions and re-enact life events, experiencing the diverse appearances of the same event from different emotional perspectives. Finally, through forum theater and situational performances, students collectively consider possible solutions to interpersonal conflicts.

Through the process of creation and performance, students not only learn to express emotions using voice, facial expressions, and body language, but also cultivate self-awareness, empathy, and communication and collaboration skills. It is hoped that through art as a medium for understanding the world, students will discover that changing an emotional perspective can potentially change a relationship and even alter the ending of a story.
