Tainan Municipal Jiufenzi Elementary and Junior High School—Breaking Boundaries, "Drama" Singing the Praises of Equality

This program begins with the classic eighth-grade text "The Ballad of Mulan," aligning with the core issue of "gender equality education" and responding to the intrinsic needs of adolescents facing traditional gender labels and developing self-identity. The course starts with "textual awareness" in Chinese language classes, guiding students to read and analyze diverse texts starting with "The Ballad of Mulan," and combining cross-dressing with modern gender data analysis to deconstruct historical and contemporary occupational gender frameworks. This then extends to "rational critical thinking" in counseling activities, analyzing the hierarchical relationship between "stereotypes, prejudices, and discrimination," and deeply engaging with contemporary major gender issues and life stories such as "Rose Boy Yeh Yung-chih" and the "Lin Yu-ting Olympic Incident," internalizing these into respect, inclusion, and companionship in school life. Finally, it culminates in "emotional expression" in performing arts classes, introducing students to the classic cross-dressing and female performer culture in Taiwanese traditional opera, and using AI tools to adapt traditional opera lyrics, enabling students to bravely speak out for equality.
